How to Solve your IRS Tax Problem
Do I really need an Attorney, is this system really that simple?
The IRS TaxMasters Resolution System is very simple. To achieve most results with the IRS in resolving back tax debts, a single short simple form mailed to the correct IRS department is all that is needed. The IRS TaxMasters Resolution System tells you which IRS form is necessary, how to most effectively complete that IRS form and then where to mail that IRS form. If you have questions along the way, call the one of the tax attorneys at Segal, Cohen & Landis LLP. Over the phone they will immediately guide you through the process.
How difficult is it for me to communicate with the IRS?
Communication with the IRS is very simple. Once a correct form is mailed to the IRS, an IRS case worker is assigned to investigate and act upon the request made in the appropriate form. This IRS case worker will not be an attorney and merely will be assigned to verify the facts asserted in the form mailed to the IRS.
Do I face any criminal exposure?
For most taxpayers, criminal exposure is rare. The IRS prosecutes only a few thousand taxpayers a year. This is a very small number given that millions and millions of taxpayers have tax problems with the IRS. Generally, the IRS pursues the prosecution of taxpayers that will result in media attention. The IRS believes that this media attention will promote enough fear in the general population to lead to greater compliance. As such, the IRS generally prosecutes actors, musicians, artists and those individual who have some societal celebrity status. The IRS also tends to prosecute those individuals who also have other criminal activity such as narcotics trafficking and white collar crime. Further, it is rare that IRS prosecutes for less than $500,000 of past due tax liability. If you have a fear of an IRS criminal prosecution and have purchased the IRS TaxMasters Resolution System, do not hesitate to contact the tax attorneys at Segal, Cohen & Landis LLP. Communication with the tax attorneys is protected by the Attorney-Client privilege. Again, if you have any concerns, do not hesitate to contact us.
Can I get in trouble resolving my own IRS issue?
Generally, no. As long as you are polite and respectful to the revenue officers and staff working at the IRS, they will be polite and respectful to you. Further, they will also try to help you solve your tax problem and back taxes. Problems generally only occur when taxpayers are rude or belligerent to the IRS revenue officers. If some reason you find yourself with an aggressive and uncompromising revenue officer at the IRS, you can always change the venue by filing the appropriate form. The IRS TaxMasters Resolution System can help with the choice of form (and venue), and how to complete that form. If you have any questions or merely want to communicate with a tax attorney regarding your IRS problem, just call the tax attorneys at Segal, Cohen & Landis LLP for further guidance.
How long will it take me to fix my IRS problem?
Different IRS problems take varying amounts of time to solve. In the case of delinquent unfiled tax returns, the process can be completed with in 1 to 3 months. This is true even if you do not have any of your old records, W-2s or 1099s. The IRS TaxMasters Resolution System will show you how to quickly and easily obtain your financial records directly from the IRS and then how to use those records to complete the unfiled tax returns. Usually, these IRS records are all that is needed to prepare and file delinquent returns.
An Offer-In-Compromise with the IRS can take about 6 months to complete. However, this time guideline is a little misleading. Very little work has to be done during the 6 month Offer-In-Compromise process. Because the IRS Offer-In-Compromise system is slow does not mean that there is a lot of difficult work to do. Conversely, there is very little work to do. Let the IRS TaxMasters Resolution System show you how easily, effectively and quickly you can resolve most any IRS problem ranging from unfiled returns, to Offers-In-Compromise to wage garnishments, bank levies and tax liens.
In the case of wage garnishments and bank levies, specific IRS forms can be filed with specific IRS collection units that may allow for immediate release (one or two days) of wage garnishments and bank levies. Once again, the IRS TaxMasters Resolution System can guide you through this process. If you desire, you can communicate with the tax attorneys at Segal, Cohen & Landis LLP to further guide you along the way.
